FAQ

About BONYAHEALTH

  1. What is a metabolic testing center?

A metabolic testing center measures how an individual body produces and uses energy, then treats what the measurements find.

    • BONYAHEALTH tests on site: resting metabolic rate, cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition.
    • Metabolic and hormone laboratory panels are selected for your clinical picture.
    • DEXA scanning is added once the scanner is installed.
    • A physician directs treatment based on those results.
    • The testing is the foundation; treatment follows from it.
  2. How is BONYAHEALTH different from a weight loss program?

A weight loss program starts with a plan and hopes your body agrees. BONYAHEALTH starts by measuring your metabolism.

    • Treatment is selected from what the measurements show.
    • Care is precise and evidence based: high value measurements, clinical testing and connected health technology are brought together into one picture of your data.
    • Care is directed by a physician.
    • Medication is prescribed and monitored where it is indicated.
    • Progress is verified by repeating the same objective tests rather than by weighing in.
    • A personalized report, prepared with AI, puts each measurement in plain language beside your earlier ones.
    • Where it applies, the Personal Health Tech Navigator helps you use the latest wearables and sensors to support lasting lifestyle changes.
  3. Do you offer nutrition counseling or health coaching?

No. BONYAHEALTH is built on objective testing and medical treatment directed by a physician.

    • We do not offer nutrition counseling, health coaching or lifestyle programs.
    • There is no dietitian on staff and no standalone coaching service.
    • Where one of those would help, your physician can refer you to a dietitian, a health coach or a structured lifestyle program outside BONYAHEALTH.
    • We will share the measurements, so whoever you work with is starting from your actual numbers.
  4. Who reads my results?

Your results are read by healthcare professionals specializing in metabolic health, obesity medicine and menopause care.

    • A physician reviews your results if that review is included in your membership package.
    • The standards of testing and the protocols are led by a physician.
    • BONYAHEALTH is led by an endocrinologist.

The assessment

  1. What happens at a baseline assessment?

A baseline assessment is a single visit.

    • Resting metabolic rate is measured by indirect calorimetry.
    • Cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition are analyzed.
    • DEXA scanning is added once the scanner is installed.
    • Blood work is a clinical decision rather than a fixed list: the panel is selected for your history, your symptoms, your risk and the reason you came in.
    • A comprehensive metabolic and hormone panel is commonly part of a baseline, without being automatic for everyone.
    • Your results come back as a personalized metabolic report, prepared with AI, that puts each measurement in plain language.
    • Depending on your membership tier, a physician can then go through the complete set with you and explain what each measurement means for your situation.
  2. Is blood drawn on site?

    No, not for now.

    • Laboratory panels are ordered and read by your physician.
    • Which panels are drawn is a clinical decision made from your history, your symptoms, your risk and the reason you came in.
  3. Do you offer a DEXA bone density scan?

    No.

    • The DEXA scan here is a whole body composition scan, reporting fat, lean and bone mass region by region.
    • It is not a diagnostic bone density study, which images the hip and spine specifically.
    • DEXA scanning joins the testing menu once the scanner is installed.
  4. Do I need a referral?

    No referral is needed.

Care and services

  1. Do you prescribe GLP-1 medication?

    Where it is indicated, yes.

    • GLP-1 and other medication for obesity is prescribed and monitored by a physician.
    • It is done the right way: the aim is fat loss with muscle preserved, not weight loss alone.
    • Repeat testing measures what sits underneath the weight.
  2. What does menopause care include?

Evaluation and medication management for menopause and perimenopause, led by a physician.

    • A comprehensive metabolic and hormone panel, body composition and resting metabolic rate are read together.
    • Hormone replacement therapy is prescribed and monitored here where it is indicated.
    • Care extends beyond estrogen therapy, to the metabolic changes that come with menopause.
    • Testing is repeated on a set schedule.
  3. What is the Personal Health Tech Navigator?

It is a service that decides which wearables and sensors are worth using for your specific situation.

    • We configure them and connect them to your member dashboard.
    • What those devices record between visits is read by your physician alongside the testing done here.
    • A report prepared with AI sets that data in plain language beside your own earlier readings.
    • A consumer sensor and a clinical instrument measure different things, so the home data is set in the right context rather than taken at face value.
  4. Can I share my results with my own physician or trainer?

    Yes.

    • We can work alongside your existing physician, dietitian or trainer to make sense of the results and coordinate what follows.
    • Every measurement is kept in your member dashboard under your name.

Cost and membership

  1. How much does membership cost?

Membership runs as a ladder: Metabolic, Essential, Performance, Elite.

    • Metabolic is a single visit, paid once.
    • The others are memberships.
    • Pricing is published closer to opening.
  2. Do you accept insurance?

    No.

    • Members pay BONYAHEALTH directly.
    • No medical insurance is billed or accepted, for any visit or service.
  3. Can I pay with an HSA or FSA card?

HSA/FSA card acceptance is under consideration but not yet confirmed.
